Overalls on – and let’s get started with some creative “bluemaking”! Or perhaps yellow, green, or pink?

In this workshop, we experiment with historical photographic techniques: cyanotype (also known as “blueprint”) and the plant-based anthotype process. Using simple materials and the power of the sun, participants create vibrant deep-blue as well as yellow, green, and pink images on paper, wood, and fabric.

Step by step, participants are introduced to the basics of these unique sun-printing techniques—from preparing and coating the surfaces, to exposing and developing the images. Along the way, there is plenty of room for personal ideas and creative experimentation, allowing everyone to explore the wide range of possibilities these processes offer.
