With Talking Books, C/O Berlin regularly invites audiences to rediscover the world of photobooks. In an extended edition of the format, artists from the exhibition Close Enough present their book projects in person and offer insights into their artistic practice. Most of the works in the exhibition – all long-term, in-depth projects – have also been published as photobooks. How does a photobook differ from an exhibition? What role does the book play in their practice? And what is the future of the medium as an independent form?
This time with artist Lúa Ribeira who will present her book project, followed by an open Q&A with the audience.
Lúa Ribeira (b. 1986 in Galicia, Spain) graduated in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales in 2016. Her practice is collaborative and immersive, with a focus on transformative experiences with her subjects. Her work has won several awards, including the Firecracker Grant for Women in Photography and the Jerwood/Photoworks Award. Ribeira’s work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions.
