Artist Tour

In the Artist Tour, Karolina Wojtas, winner of the C/O Berlin Talent 2022 – Artist, guides us through her multimedia work Abzgram, which comprises videos and a confusion of photographs, some found and others staged by her. Printed onto various materials, the artist transforms the exhibition spaces into room-sized installations. Wojtas’s exhibition design encloses the classroom in a bleak fence that intentionally evokes a penal institution. The artist responds with caustic irony to the rigid Polish school system, which imposes rules on children with streaks of militarism. 

The Artist Tour will be accompanied in dialogue by the curator Dr. Kathrin Schönegg and Matthias Gründig, winner in the Theorist category, who has written an essay about the winning project that will be published in the monography accompanying the exhibition.
