As part of the exhibition Image Ecology, C/O Berlin, in collaboration with Das Wetter – Magazin für Texte und Musik, presents an Discussion with the photo and video artist Tobias Zielony, the renowned author and artist Yevgenia Belorusets, Boaz Levin, Curator at C/O Berlin and Sascha Ehlert, editor-in-chief of the magazine Das Wetter. The focus will be on autofiction as an artistic approach, particularly with regard to topics such as the climate crisis and war – which play a significant role in both Zielony's and Belorusets' artistic practice.
What opportunities and challenges arise when merging documentation and fiction in photography and text? Zielony, who explores complex social issues through visual narratives and imagery, is expanding his artistic expression, which has previously focused on photography, to include the use of text and fiction. This can be seen most recently in his works Wolfen (2022) and Electricity/Afterimages (2023). The latter can be seen at C/O Berlin until January 18.
Afterwards there will be a book signing with Tobias Zielony and Yevgenia Belorusets.
