Many strong images emerge from closeness and trust toward people and places – yet distance and detachment can be just as important. This two-day photography workshop begins with a visit to the exhibition Close Enough, featuring works by twelve women photographers from the renowned Magnum photo agency. Selected works will be viewed and discussed together: How are people and situations portrayed? What visual techniques are used? And how do the images affect us as viewers?
Participants then choose a photograph that resonates with them and draw inspiration from the photographer’s approach. This serves as a starting point to develop and implement their own photographic ideas – either by consciously adopting certain elements or by exploring entirely new directions. The workshop concludes with a group discussion of the resulting images. It offers space for new impulses and supports participants in developing a personal visual language and expressing their individual view of the world through photography.
