A song is only half the art! Music videos can be anything – your imagination sets the limits. In this workshop, participants will plan, shoot, and edit their own clips while learning techniques that are easy to apply yet create impressive effects. The foundation can be own songs and lyrics, favorite tracks, or music by friends. These will be creatively visualized with the participants' own film ideas.
Working in small groups, participants develop their own music videos, whether they already have a clear vision or are still looking for the right idea. Everyone can take on the role that suits them best: whether in front of the camera, choreographing, operating the camera, or directing. Just like on a real film set!
Pola Kapuste works visually with collages and stop-motion techniques, and writes both journalistic and fictional texts. Her work has been published in Das Wetter magazine, Die ZEIT, Der SPIEGEL, and fluter. After spending a year reporting from Mexico as a freelance foreign correspondent, she now focuses primarily on film. As a screenwriter, director, and editor, she has found a way to merge language and image. Her third short film MADONNAS was created during a residency in Taranto, Italy, and is currently being screened at festivals in Berlin, Tokyo, and Cannes.
Greta Markurt works as a cinematographer in both film and theater – ideally where the two intersect and where processes and aesthetics are reimagined. She has contributed to productions at the Berliner Ensemble, the Volksbühne, and the Deutsche Oper, as well as to numerous short films and music videos. She is currently filming her first 90-minute experimental documentary, which gives physical form to the inner worlds of a group of teenagers in Nordhausen, Thuringia.
