Finding Your Voice as a Photographer

Have you been taking pictures for a while but feel your images could be improved with more focus and meaning? Do you have difficulty expressing visually what you want to say? In this class, you’ll work on developing your own personal style and language by deepening your photographic seeing, refining your composition skills, and learning techniques to tell stronger stories. We'll discuss a variety of approaches to visual storytelling and analyze work by other photographers to learn what tools they use. Taking each student's natural talents and interests as the starting point and through weekly group critique and exercises, you’ll deepen your photography practice and develop your own visual voice.

A special highlight of this class will be a live online tour through the C/O Berlin retrospective of photographer Daido Moriyama.
