What moves you? What frightens you? What gives you courage? In our world, things often seem so huge that we feel powerless. On the animation table, the world can be imagined in miniature and made more beautiful, more equal, more sustainable! With paper and cardboard, pen, paint, scissors and the collective ingenuity of a small group, you can show everyone what moves you!
In this workshop you will learn how to make a cut-out animation, how to design, cut and assemble the characters and how to move and animate them. No previous experience is necessary, just a little patience – and a lot of imagination. Your characters will be transformed into small scenes, into magical worlds without time and gravity – only you determine what is possible and what is not!
Jan Caspers came to animated film via puppetry, silhouette cutting and a robot theater and has been leading stop-motion workshops for C/O Berlin Education for a around ten years.
Gary Rosborough has worked as an animation teacher for twenty-five years. He has inspired countless children, teens and adults on four continents to explore the expressive possibilities of animation.
