Frauke Menzinger

During this two-day workshop, the young participants will explore the Berlin Zoo, observe the grounds, the animals and the visitors, and be inspired to take their own exciting photographic motifs. Are they close-ups of fur, skin and animal ears or a comparative series of different species? Do colours or shapes play a role in the photographs? Do interesting stories emerge in the enclosures – or perhaps even more interesting events in front of them? With the impressions captured photographically in your luggage, you will return to C/O Berlin, where the collected material can be viewed together in the photography course and then put together your own expressive photo series.

Iris Janke studied visual communication and fine arts and works as a freelance photographer. Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions and at photo festivals worldwide. In 2011, she exhibited as a talent at C/O Berlin.

Frauke Menzinger first studied literature and fine arts and stage and costume design at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. She works freelance for both theatre and film productions. In 2010 she took over the artistic direction of the education programmes Junior, Teens and Perspectives of the C/O Berlin Foundation.
