Inspired by Isadora Romero's exhibition Notes on How to Build a Forest, we immerse ourselves in the exciting world of still life photography and set design. After exploring the exhibition together, we set out to find interesting natural materials in the surrounding area. Participants use these materials to create their own little worlds in the studio and stage them using photography. This results in small works of art in front of and in the camera.
Participants learn the basics of photography, such as lighting and image composition, in a playful way, consciously engage with materials from nature, and discover their creative potential. They develop their own image concepts, design individual sets, and strengthen each other through creative collaboration and exchange.
Studio Likeness is an interdisciplinary duo from the fields of photography and design. Julia Classen and Magdalena Lepka conceive and realize narrative still lifes and photo illustrations for art projects, magazines, and advertising clients. They work with the mediums of photography and set design to create surreal worlds that often play humorously with the viewer's perception.
