Accompanying the exhibition Nothing is Original, delphi LUX and C/O Berlin are presenting a curated film series showcasing influential works that have significantly shaped Rosefeldt’s artistic practice — including L’Âge d’Or (1930, The Golden Age) by Luis Buñuel:

A couple is prevented from pursuing their passions by societal constraints. Salvador Dalí co-wrote the screenplay for Buñuel’s surreal and, at the time, scandalous film. With a flair for the absurd, Buñuel creates a grotesque, satirical portrait of bourgeois repression and religious morality. Rosefeldt’s work is threaded with references to Buñuel’s surreal imagery — his film Deep Gold could even be seen as an insert between the final scene and the epilogue of L’Âge d’Or.
