Having superpowers would be great! On the animation table, you can come up with your own superpowers: Defy gravity? No problem. Become invisible? That's possible. Teleportation? Why not? Stop time? Child's play. With paper and cardboard, pencils, paint, scissors, and the collective creativity of a small group, you can let your imagination run wild.
In this workshop, you will learn how a cutout animation film is made, how the characters are designed, cut out, and assembled, and how you can move and animate them. No prior knowledge is required, just a little patience and a cheerful imagination. This will be translated into small scenes and enchanting worlds. Only you decide what is possible and what is not!
Jan Caspers came to animated film via puppetry, silhouettes and a robot theater and has been leading stop-motion workshops for C/O Berlin Education for over ten years.
Gary Rosborough has been working as an animation teacher for twenty-five years. He has inspired countless children, young people and adults on four continents with the expressive possibilities of animated film.
