Close Up!
Show us your picture of the Berlinale! It seems like an easy task but it’s harder than you might think. 14 young photographers were given the assignment of presenting their personal view of the 63rd Berlinale in all its diversity—the red carpet, glamorous film stars, audience impressions, or secrets. With a special accreditation, the participants had the opportunity to try out their skills as professional photojournalists every day from 7th to 17th February 2013 at the Red Carpet and at a variety of special events. Each photographer has decided on a theme, embarked on a search for motifs, selected images, and put together a series of works for exhibition.
The works submitted by the participants were judged by a specialist jury on Sunday, 17 February, 2013. Dieter Kosslick, patron of the 'Close Up!' project, presented the winner Tom Palluch a set of professional Canon photographic equipment and opened the exhibition. Veronica Losantos Sanchez and Tobias Kappel were the second and third prize winners.
The participants were: Philip Bartz, Rian Davidson, Anne Eger, Johanna Maria Fritz, Daniel Goede, Tim Heide, Nora Heinisch, Tobias Kappel, Natash Klimenko, Paul Lehr, Veronica Losantos Sanchez, Tom Palluch, Mara Ploscaru and Stefanie Schmid Rincon.
