Peggy Sirota plays her own game with the world of glamour. Again and again, she manages to get famous people to step outside themselves while in front of the camera, and to abandon their usual protective mechanisms. The results are lively portraits that tell the observer something significant about the person portrayed. For her “Aids Los Angeles” benefit project, Peggy Sirota photographed more than 170 stars, sports people and musicians. She gave the project the title “Guess Who” and put the stars into fancy dress, hid them, or made them completely unrecognisable. Subjects include Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Goldie Hawn. With this project, Peggy Sirota created an exciting and unique guessing game.
