Photographer Harald Hauswald used his analog 35mm camera to document everyday life in the GDR. The images are snapshots of street scenes, meetings with friends, his family or events and were captured by him on extended forays. They tell of the photographer's daily confrontation with his immediate surroundings and, through his special gaze, become impressive documents of a time long gone.
Inspired by the current exhibition Harald Hauswald .Voll das Leben! Reloaded, the participants of the photography course follow in the footsteps of Harald Hauswald and focus their photographic gaze on the special moments of supposedly everyday street scenes. Sensitized to the decisive moment, the young photographers in the workshop capture the street life around Bahnhof Zoo with the analog camera. The black-and-white 35mm films are then developed in the darkroom. A selection of the resulting photographs can be printed independently and taken home at the end of the photo workshop.
This workshop provides young people with knowledge and offers hands-on practice in analog photography and its techniques.
The workshop is held in German.
